I took the plunge today and bought my first caravan!  It's a Swift Rapide 470, 1994, wondered if anyone had any thoughts on it, things to keep an eye on perhaps?  Any opinions would be much appreciated.  Also, any general tips for a new caravanner?

One thing i'd check is the tyres , check for any cracks in the side walls even small ones , if you find any have them replaced , also check when they were made , there should be a date on the side of the tyre wall see here

Ps go for a 6 or 8 ply tyre if replacing them. see here

• hi ellej welcome ukcs. the practical caravan feb issue has three pages of info on the swift rapide this month, giving case studies and general info hope this helpful. we  have a 2 berth and love it. lesley
