When we bought the Challenger the owner was honest enough to say he didn't know the age but thought it a '91. ie pre universal VIN codes

However there is this code etched on all the windows H9SW026901. -- Calling all sleuths  --- please.

Having seen similar models, but with Porta Pottis not cassetttes, on eBay described as 89, maybe our seller was not far out?

I suppose I need the chassis number, but crawling round a chassis in this weather looking for it wont be much fun....& am I that desperate to know I wonder --- (suitable emoticon not found )

Thxs Frank, I have emailed their man Mark ----------- then I looked at their used vans !!! - £4000 for a 1991 17ft van !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The number you quote is the NCC pre 92 10 digit VIN number, where it gets confusing is that 'H' which should I think be an 8 for 1989.

So H9 = year, SW = Swift, 02 = model type, 6901 = serial number

You are correct Gary, on closer examination it is an 8. - thxs.
