Hi

Hi some sensible help required please.(One of our sons has already suggested many things including taking our own bed and removing the caravan seating)

We bought a new Caravan last year an Avondale Dart 510S However we havn't been able to get a good nights sleep because the supplied seating cushions are too hard

Where can I get an inflatable matress that will fit into the smaller bed space in the rear its only 45" wide but the lengths no problem at 78"

Anyone got any idea's, We would like to make it so that its semi permanent (Only 2 of us to a 5 berth)

Thanks

Hi,

We have a piece of memory foam, 25mm thick that we lay over the made up bed. This makes all the difference for us, and I do not get any back problems at all now we use this foam.

We got it from Cushy Numbers in Bristol and it cost about £40

The foam can be ordered to size and is easlily cut. We protect ours with an elasticated mattrass cover that is a really good fit.

The foam rolls up to a sausage about18" diameter and 24" long which we store in the shower during the day.

I can really recommend this solution-it works for us!

regards

Mr Ulti-Mate

I have only ever slept on an inflatable mattress once and I was not impressed. The foam in caravan seating is harder because of its fire resistance. However a firmer mattress is much better for you. If you must have a softer surface I would go with Ulti-Mates suggestion.

We bought a memory foam mattress topper, it is really comfortable, no feeling the ridges in the cushions or anything. I wouldn't be without our now.

I have just boght a 2 inch memory foam matress topper from comfyworks on e-bay, free delivery came next day, cost around £32 for a single but worth every penny.

Tried it out a couple of weeks ago had a really good night sleep, also keep in the shower but rolls small enough to be kept in bed locker.

      Sweet dreams    janx

You see, one of the things I like about this site is subjects like this.
I never had a comfy night in our old van but never considered that there would be such a simple solution.
Haven't slept in the new one yet but if I have a bad night I know what to do now :-)

best cheers

Thanks everyone think I will go down the memory foam line, I cannot take hard foam since my back was operated on.

Must have a good nights sleep everytime I go away in the Caravan makes the whole Holiday thing come true, A Month or two away relaxing from it all.

Cheers
