I am with Direct line and seem to be pretty cheap plus if I diont use them we get a discount following year. They also cover caravans as long as they are attached to the vehicle.
Ours is up soon so will see what there combined uk and euro breakdown is.
Just joined the caravan club to take up mayday green flag breakdown cover. The cost of joining and taking the appropriate breakdown cover to hopefully meet our needs was less than the quote from arrival under the c&cc. Now that we are in both clubs, we will do a years comparrison and may be leave one. Why is decision making so difficult for my male logic?
Hopefully wont need the breakdown cover.
Stay safe and enjoy

I was confused before!!! but my question is the same; say the axle breaks on the camper are you covered by anyone? or does it have to be the car that dies?
------------- Good friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget.
Hi Jan, I asked the same question to the rac they said with the cover that we have at the moment if that happened they would not come out but if we join arrival with the c&cc then whatever happens everyone + car + trailer will either go on to destination or home or garage.
Well I have also been looking and so far Europ Assistance cost via, http://www.quotelinedirect.co.uk/ do look damn good and the info on Europs website may apply:
Does look damn good and that is a great cost as it includes European cover - currently £59.00
Hmmm, well whem my Direct Line cover runs out for breakdown, they may well get my business, especially as I am off to Europe in the summer - what a cost saving.
But are they any good or should I stick with mayday and get a separate breakdown cover for Europe - plus I do need to insure anotyher car - the wifes one
Actually done some digging about this today at the NEC. Arriva the RAC one you get with membership of C&C club, you have a much more comprehensive cover. AA with not recover you from muddy field (Arriva does), If you car breaks down when you are separated from the unit ... ie (when it is on the campsite) Arriva will pick up the unit as well as your car if you wish to go home rather than back to campsite. (hope that makes sense). Finally accident cover is debatable in the AA policy... Arriva RAC does.
I am a member of the Caravaning and camping club so belonging to arriva definitely makes sense for me. Can I also say although I have never used one of the caravanning and camping clubs official sites only the little sites I can say the technical help I have received and the magazine is worth the subscription and more. But we are all different in our needs...
If you belong to the Camping and caravanning club there is no charge for upgrading your RAC membership to arriva plus you get a discount from your standard RAC member ship of 10%. However you do have to obtain a reference number and your membership number from the C&C club and ring the RAC with it to upgrade your membership.
That is fantastic news tent peg, we are off to the NEC on sat and will be signing up then. Does anyone know if the C&CC are doing any deals at the show this week ?
Paul+Wendy, Was at the show on Monday, it was a great day out. The C&CC i believe were offering a free fleece if you join the club at the show. I was also chatting with the RAC Arrival rep on the club stand, who said they had been busy signing up club members following different posts on various caravanning related websites on the subject of caravan recovery. Hope this helps.
Thanks Humberflyer thats brilliant, as I said we will be there on Saturday, cant wait to be honest even though I know we will spend all day drooling lol. I am definately going to join the C&CC now as lets face it, it's a bargain.
