hi if its the alko stabiliser you need a long neck towball on your tow bar the number is 1385401 type UN 2 52 D MAX LOAD UP TO 150 KGS,RETORQUE M16 BOLTS TO 210Nm,bolts 8.8.you may need longer bolts, cost about £20 plus fitting

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
I think the only thing you will need to change is the "Towball" the alko one is an extended Towball, so all you need to do is take the alko one with you and some spanners to fit and swop it when you get to the dealers, the dealer will probabably do it for you, Ok.
Oh i see phew panic over, i dont normally worry myself with things like that (i leave that up to the hubby) i will look clever tomorrow when we are off buying a new towball and i can tell him all about it lol.
Thanks everyone
ps just had a look and its the blue colour one on our new van.
If its the Blue one its probably the Winterhoff WS3000 see the link to download instruction manuals, I don't think you need to change the towball with these.
Hi Debbie, what is the make of new van if it is the Abbey (as on your profile)it will be an Alko. If it is a new van ckeck that you have do have a new towball supplied with the van Alko usaly do supply one...

One more thing. If you get an alko towball, it is usualy painted. The ball itself needs the paint sanding off. I do not understand why they paint them myself.
------------- Reality is an illusion created by lack of alcohol!!
If it is an Alko and your Jeep has a rear mounted spare wheel on the rear door, you may need a spacer on your tow ball as I Have a Mitsubishi Shogun, and have to open the rear door to hitch up as the handle catches the spare wheel.
