Thinking of having some new carpet fitted in the caravan as the old looks very tired now, OH isnt up to the job so just wondered if anyone else has had it done and how much does it cost approx, do you have to get a specialist fitter or will a normal carpet fitter do the job.
no its easy,go to a carpet wearhouse and get a roll end about 16 foot long.cost depends on quality, ours was only £20.lay out the new one on the outside path place the old one on top and cut round for the shape leave about half inch extra on each side.then refit fit using a very sharp knife.COST £20you may need a sharp knife to remove the old one if its fitted under the fittings.

hubby did ours but then he is a carpet fitter, if doing it yourself
measure twice to be certain of the measurements, get a spray adhesive from local diy shop to stick the carpet to the floor. Pity you dont live closer or he would of done it for you.Depending on how many square yards you would need he usually charged £30/£40 a van.
Hi Micheal I said that to OH but he still dosen't want to tackle the job, I would have a go but get my ear bent forever if it went wrong, I wonder if anyone at the Carpet Warehouse would have a go at fitting it, might just go in and ask before I buy a roll of carpet.

Sorry about my last post this was a mistake on my part I was trying to save the post for future reference. Do you fit removable carpets I live in Crewe not too far away for a visit.
hi 1031am, will ask oh to get in touch with you, i am not sure about the removable carpet. he will be on here at some point this evening then maybe you can chat to him about it.
Hi we hated the removable carpet in our van (mostly down to colour) anyway we went to a local carpet firm, saw just the colour and quality we wanted........the guy came out measured the van and then returned to the shop, cut off the amount he needed and fit it all the way through in our twin axle, and it took him about 2 hours to fit it, made a great job and in total charged us £120, we love it the colour has transformed the van and as it is a good quality it keeps a lot better than the one that was supplied with the van, in Winter it is nice and cosy too.
