I am looking at insurance for my first van which I will be collecting in March. Have looked at the threads on this site about insurance and know who not to get a quote from! My van will have a Phantom tracker and PIR and tilt senors so I hoped my quotes would reflect this.
I have several quotes now, but one is much lower than the rest. It is from Shield Direct and the advert was in Caravan magazine. Is anyone using them? Any problems?
We've used the Caravan Club and Caravan Guard. We are using Park Home Insurance this year. They are good value and have been well rated in the caravan press. Worth a try
Discounted Insurance Quotes for UKCampsite.co.uk visitors! Up to 12.5% off!
Im currently insured with crusader insurance after finding their advert in the caravan magazine, they give very competitive quotes and are very helpful, and have given me yet another competitve renewal quote this year, give them a try you maybe surprised.
The only time you find out how good your insurance is god forbid when you need to claim
We use shield Direct. This is our second year with them and have had no problems. Our van was new in sept and the premium was £248.00, cover for van £10.000, contents £1.000. All done over the phone as well,no forms to fill in !
Hope this helps,

shield Direct. don't cover caravans sited for the whole year but they are a good insurance they are brokers for igi insurance and they are a brilliant insurance to go with
I've spoken to two people in the last week, both of whom have had their vans stolen recently (one in mid-December, the other early January) and both coincidentally were insured with NFU. They each told me they had their claims settled in around 6 weeks with no quibbles. I'm intending to check them out when my insurance comes up for renewal.

are there any insurance co's that cater for 20+ vans?
i have just had a quote from my previous E&L and it has gone up by nearly £20 even though i not claimed.
The general consensus of opinion on insurance by the members of UKCS judging by the results of the numberous threads on this, is that any company is better than E&L
