Bought a Geist really good deal, managed to get loads of extras - alko stabliser,cd player, alloy wheels, 40 lts aqua roll, spare wheel and a free weekend when i pick the unit up in June, June suits us as we are cocentrating on our hols in Florida, May. Shame we did not cross paths. Did not see Linda.
Hey Bomber, I nearly bought a Bailey ranger 460/40. Would have signed on dotted line, but:
He offered a pittance for my van.
No discussion on reducing price.
No offered extra's.
But most of all, 'If you sign today you'll get it at special show price.' Does that mean if I phone him on Wednesday and say go ahead with deal he will turn me down? Don't think so; maybe I'll try to see if my theory is correct.
I know what you mean. I said to one of the salesmen in fact he was a managing director (nice bloke who spoke my kind of language) "if i slapped £14000.00 on your table next month and i want the same deal you had on in the show are you going to say no and turn me away" he said "its very hard to turn a sale of a caravan away" so the answer is yes they would.
Camerashyman go in there with all guns a blazing and take no prisoners.
went to the show today, got a picnic hamper set for sunscribing to practical caravan............nice.............wel the mrs thinks so!!
could have bought 5 or 6 differnet vans. Biggest one we were suprsed about was the dethleffs, had a fixed bunk and seating at the back of the van, was fanatastic until we read 15k price tag!!!
Took home 10 /11 carrier bags of brochuires etc, im sure our paper recycling will increase this week!
Dethleffs: Whippy shear quality. I looked at them did not like the layout but i went there with buying German so i came away buying a Geist, i don't care if the Germans bombed all our chip shops during the war, what matters is they are years ahead when it comes to building caravans.
Talking of chip shops - has anyone noticed the new Lunar Frystar (a dealer special being promoted by Fry's caravans, Yorkshire).
Doesn't that sound like a mobile chip shop to you??
It features in my March 2006 copy of Which Caravan, which was my 'free' magazine at the Show yesterday.
And - am I the only person to notice that the same magazine has a big feature on page 28 - entitled 'Bailey Discovery 510' and as far as I can tell, the feature is actually on the Ranger, not the Discovery!!! Whoops!
