Help we want to visit London see the eye etc, But don't want the stress of driving around the city. Does anyone know of a handy caravan site where we could catch a tube or a bus into the city without using the car, bearing in mind we've got a long journey from Rhyl N. Wales. The wife says a coach trip, I'd like to think we could have a pleasant short break using the van. Any suggestions please?
You've probably guessed we're beginning to feel our age & don't want hassle ( as well as me having a short fuse)
The Caravan Club site at Abbey Wood is handy for Central London. The station is about 5/10 minute walk away and the trip takes about 30 minutes. The caravan Club have another site at Crystal Palace which is a bit further into London.

Let the train take the strain. We did and stayed at a travel lodge for £26 a night.right in middle of London. we bought food from M&S and had picnics in our room!!
www.travelodge.co.uk much cheaper than driving and less hassle. We saw all the sites and took in a show. There are direct trains from along the coast to London.( I think 2xDaily) We picked the train up in Chester. a great time was had by all. you need to book in advance but cheap train fares cant be booked more than 3 months ahead. If you are over 60 get a rail card even cheaper and you get on tube cheaper too and into some of the attractions like the eye.
Whatever you decide enjoy yourselves we did and cant wait to go back. roll on June when we do it all again.
