Hi everyone. At the moment I am working on the interior of my 'van. I have noticed a few other marks on the walls aswell. I have to replace the front panel, which I've been quoted £30 for an 8 x 4 sheet. But due to the other marks, I am considering wallpapering it all. Would this be a viable option???? I know everyone has their own ways but I'd like to hear both sides.
wall paper may be a problem in winter, the paper has a tendancy to absorb any small amount of damp there is, so may get moud on it, and/or peel off, an external type paint/wall covering may be a better way to go

A warm welcome Luke_s to the UKCS Tin Tent Brigade fraternity, 1st question is all your paneling a flat surface? if so you could cross line them with a Linning paper this is very cheap per roll and is obtainable in various thicknesess depending on the type of surface you are applying it to? before applying you main wall paper to give a better surface to work on etc. if your paneling has the V grooves in? you can get Decorators caulke and fill the grooves with a broad Spatular and then sand flat when dried with a fine sand paper, then apply the cross lined paper with a good quality anti fungisidal adhesive, then fit your Main wallpaper finishs etc. all the above can be obtained from a good quality Decorators merchants etc.
We have papered ours, we simply sized all the walls with pva glue and then used solvite anti fungal paste, we did have a couple of probs with some bubbles but they were soon sorted.
WallPaper does not sound right because of the reasons previously given ,[It would peel of during the winter] However there is a product called Muraspec which profesional decorators use ,this is a vinyl material used on office partitions and is fixed using a very strong adhesive paste .It comes in many paterns and shades but the more popular are similar to the fabric used on caravan wall boards. Its expensive
The best thing is when the board was delivered it had been packaged back-to-back with another wallboard to protect it - not the same pattern, but enough to tidy up my toilet compartment FOC!
On the wallpaperin thing I'm pants... can even do my walls at home, so think I would opt for painting the walls with bathroom/kitchen paint

I thought modern vinyl wallpapers and the paste included a fungicide, otherwise they'd have the same problems in a bathroom or kitchen surely?
Dont forget the before and after photo's!!! and remember for your new paneling "measure twice and cut once" any awkward places make a cardboard/paper template first just to save the tears later
Get yourself a cheap roll of lining paper for all your templates and if you have a screwfix near by then it's one of the cheapest and best for all your adhesives.
