By wallcovering do you mean wallpaper rather than boarding? - If so then any wallpaper will do the job fine and you are only limited by your imagination, personally i would go for a vinyl paper as you can clean this with damp cloths/sponges if needs be, and also use PVA glue rather than paste as it sticks much better (although something to bare in mind...you can't slide the paper into place once applied to the wall like you can to some degree with paste). B&Q will have everything you need.
