I think the Elddis you looked at must have been a one off as they are normally very nice and good quality vans. We had an Elddis Tornado a few years ago and never had any trouble with it.
As to which van is best for you, you'll know it when you first walk in! When I was looking for a van I had been to 7 caravan dealers. I had seen some lovely vans and some really awful ones. At the last dealer we went to, I saw the Abi, went inside and immediately knew it was the one for me. I would have liked an Elddis Whirlwind but it was out of my price range.
Good luck with your search!
Sandy.

we were advised that the lunar vans leak and are seen as the skoda brand compared to other makes........................ Please could you advise whats the quality, reliability and build like with the lunar and what is depreciation value like compared to other caravan makers
Many Thanks
As far as I know all makes of caravan have been reported at some time to have damp, in my experience Swifts seem to have suffered more than others. I have known many people with Lunars who love them. They don't depreciate any quicker than any other make.
I think you were treated to a bit of salesman spin to encourage you to his/her brands; anyway, Skodas are now regarded very favourably.

I agree with Jazzycats you will know the right one, just keep looking and don't rush in.
As to leaks, I think all modern caravans are susceptible, and judging by some of the posts on here, as long as damp/leaks are dealt with properly, don't mean the end of the caravan. (See some of the damp posts on this forum the repairs are amazing)
Regular checks and servicing should detect problems before any real damage.
Hang in there!
Paul
