We've just bought a new folding pennine fiesta camper.

We're going to use it with an awning, I was just wondering if a hard standing or good flat grass is better to use with the awning??, we've got an awning 'carpet'.

I guess its down to personal preference ,

I dont mind either way unless its been really wet then hard standing is a bonus.

If you are going for hard standing make sure you use decent size pegs to peg down your awning as the standard pegs won't hold in high wind.

We found this out this week when our awning got damaged in the high winds

On hard standing you need to use rock pegs.

I prefer it in winter but grass is nicer in summer.

We prefer grass, except when we arrive on site in the rain. Then like Al says, the hadrd standing can be a bonus.

Prefer hardstandings all year. Keeps everything clean and none of this business about lifting groundsheets every day!

We always try and use a hard standing.  Have seen the state of some pitches when the groundsheet has been down for a week and then it has rained.  We go away all year so a hardstanding when its we is always a bonus.

Went away last Easter and the water started coming up through the groundsheet on the grass prich we had.  Never again!!!

Would always look for a hardstanding if possible ,with 3 kids it cuts down on the grass etc that they usually bring back into the camper.
