Hi All

Anyone away last weekend? We booked Holt Farm near Napton and enjoyed the mid calf mud

. Had to be towed on and off the pitches. Wellies definitely the order of the day. What a weather mixture, sunshine and warm, then horizontal, heavy freezing rain with a constant wind

Aim was to test the new van which performed without problem. Guess who forgot to close the water heater drain and contributed 40 litres of water to the already boggy ground

Nearly didn't make it as daughter decided to be sick several times in the early hours of Friday morning. Decided to go after several hours vomit free. I will say that she has christened all our tents and vans with vomit, on and off over the years, but not this one yet

Looking forward now to St Neots C & CC tuesday after Easter.

We were at Oldbury Hill for the weekend. Enjoyed the weekend but now trying not to think about cleaning the carpet, the water hog, the waste hog, the seats (thanks to the dog), the outside of the van etc etc etc!!!!

A-group-of-us-were-at-lincolnshire-lanes-this-weekend,-3-caravans-and-a-campervan-and-although-it-rained-heavily-didn't-have-any-real-problems-with-mud-on-the-campsite-but-the-tent-show-we-visited-while-we-were-there-was-really-boggy-at-the-lower-end-of-the-field.

We have just got back from lady margaret's cc site in chirk. Mud wasn't much of a problem to us, but did the same as you with the water , forgot that I shut the valve when we put it in storage & opened it up again by mistake !!!! silly boy !!!!

Other than that had a great time, can't wait until next outing

We were at Chatsworth cc site. Great weekend but muddy everywhere ( not the site I hasten to add that was immaculate) got my walking boots caked in mud and did Sundays walk in my wellies. had a great great weekend tho walked a total of 18 miles over the 2 days.I am now depressed and want to go again today!

we went away last weekend, but having been caught out last october, we decided that we would only go away early or late season if we could stay on hard standing, cost us a fortune before as we ran out of clothes, kids enjoyed the huge muddy puddles though and our four year old thought that the tractor (the one towing everybody of their pitches) was fantastic!!

we were at lower wensleydale cc and decided to choose probably the muddiest pitch there. ok , it was on gravel but the grass round it was sodden and muddy.managed to get in and out with the car without getting bogged down by using a bit of common sense ( who needs a 4x4) and pulled the van out ok when we left. cleaned the car up , and wiped the mud from the carpet, walls of the van but the aquarolls and all that gear need a good wash yet.

I did , 2 weeks ago at Cracoe near Grassington. When I levelled the 'van, it didn't go up the ramp, it sank in the mud on the other side! And that was before 18 hours of torrential rain added to the fun. Come Sunday afternoon, I needed not only 4 wheel drive, but low-ratio gear box and diff-lock to get the van off the pitch! Oh - happy days.

We were at Brown Moor CC site in in Hawes, and all I can say, is thank God all the pitches are hard standing. But even some of them were waterlogged! The waterfalls were impressive though.

We were at Folly Farm near Bourton On The Water , and mud was in plentiful supply there too. Drought - what drought ?
