I know there has been posts before about taking your cat on holiday in your van...but i'd like to know..how did you know your cat was ready to take with you??

In nice weather like we have been having over past few days i leave my van open all day for fresh air..and everytime Tigger my cat spends the day in there.. even when the vans not open he will look up at door and miaow for us to open the door!!

hes been locked in by accident a few times :O) and im wondering now would he like to come away with us...

take him but get him used to a harness and being taken walks you don't want him wandering off

You brave person taking your cat, he might find a new home, and take a permanent holiday.

As had been suggested - see if he will accept a harness and lead.  He will need to wear one all the time when away for his own safety and to abide by camp-site rules.  He may not be a dog, but still has to be on a lead.  The best srt-up I saw for a cat was cat wearing harness with lead - lead attached to long piece of washing line pegged along the front of the unit - cat had freedom of the length of his lead, right along the length of the line, and was having a great time basking in the sun and chasing flies!
