PeeWee, sorry to here about your loss, but reading about other peoples views on travellers, it makes you feel sorry for Tony Martin who was jailed for putting a traveller in his place. As said in another thread, the sooner this country becomes a Muslim State the better, as they will find it hard to steal anything with no hands,
best regards, Martin

Martin, afraid to say you are so right. The sooner this country introduces some sort of deterent the better. Until then, the scum will continue to ride roughshod over everybody because they know there is very little punishment if they do get caught.
I can't see any reason to tax, insure and MOT my car these days as any fine given to me would be paltry compared to the cost of doing so. Only the fact I am a decent law abiding citizen prevents me from joining the other scumbags in their life of luxury living off of everybody else's hard earned gains, regardless of the law of the land.
It should be an immediate fine of £1500 for each of the above offences to provide a real deterent, and hard labour in Siberia not pathetic wrist slapping and a warning "not to do it again" which currently seems to be the trend. I often joke with my partner that I would love to be the Prime Minister. Abolish this human rights trash that everybody seems to be hiding behind, make punishments fit the crimes and bring some law and order back to this country!
Hi Peewee, last month i told of my friends caravan being stolen ,probably from same scum bags, was with her last night and the police have told her that there is a 4% chance of getting it back as they alter everything on the van so it is very hard to check if it is yours or not. She lives in Rainford which is just down the road from Wigan. They don't want it back now would rather have the insurance as they have NEVER been out in the van.
Hey Warren, I work for a caravan dealer in northamptonshire, we are quite friendly with some traffic police in our area, they have told us before that when a caravan is stolen if it is not recovered in the first 48 hours there is no chance of it being located, they are shipped out of the country so quickly. The best advise we give our customers is when storing your caravan is to leave the blinds up! and the curtains open, show them there is nothing in the van worth stealing, and also take out a couple of parts of your upholstery, travellers will not steal a van with incomplete upholstery as it is to much expense/hassle to replace. Hope this helps some of you caravanners out there.
What age was you charisma? There's a stolen recovered on eBay for sale, it's a 2009, but I think it's a legit sale, as it's been CRIS again ect.and was an insurance claim.

The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
Ok, just looking on eBay at it, and then I saw your post, sometimes it's worth looking on eBay you never know it might end up on there.
Sorry about your van not had a van stolen but have had a car stolen, it's gut wrenching.

Im sure you must be gutted,Did you cris reg it,we had our first van last year and we cris reg it and had the cris extra as well, put drops all over nooks and cranies in the van.Saying that though would i want it back after some scum bag had been in it.Keep us informed how it all goes with insurance and sorting it out.
I feel for you, we had our Burstner stolen last October, but the Police found it abandoned 2 days later. Sometimes the thieves leave it somewhere in case it has a tracker on it, and if it's still there in a couple of days time they go back and pick it up. Of course in the meantime they've broken into it and stolen what they can. We were really upset, more for some of the things that were stolen from inside it. In the end the damage and missing items (including seating cushions) was too costly and the 'van was written off - we now have a Swift Charisma 560 and love it, so I know how you must be feeling.
They never caught who stole ours and I doubt they ever will.
There is a video on the internet somewhere showing a cctv view of a theft taking place, all within 10 minutes - and this 'van was very well protected. Just shows if they want it, they'll get it.
