Hello,

Well, the time has come, after much buying of utensils, leisure batteries and hitchlocks to finally take the beast out for a test-camp!

Just to remind everyone, I have NEVER been out in a caravan before, and neither has OH, so tomorrow night should be fun!

We were going to do this on our own, with no one we know to laugh at us if or when we get things a bit confused, but out of nowhere 8 of our friends have suddenly decided to come along for the ride! (they will obviously be bringing their own tents/campers, but you get the jist).

We've been waiting for my-friend-the-mechanic to give it a look over, since the breaks were a bit hit and miss. He's finally given it the all clear, plus told us it's had new break pads very recently, it has a galvanised chassis (I thought it was too old for that), and it has a very clean, dry bottom!!!

So wish us luck on this busy weekend for a scare-free night with our closest friends.

Let us know how you get on.  I haven't taken my old/new to me caravan out yet.  Maybe you can give me some tips when you get back.  Also how you get onto the pitch.

Wow, what a night!

Found a lovely little site, with trees sheltering us on one side and a beautiful view of fields on the other. Almost everything went according to plan (apart from OH managing to unscrew the little wheel at the front so it fell on the floor! With the help of a lump of wood we managed to get it back on).

Stood and watched the sunset with a glass of wine in hand, and by the time we went to bed, our little 'van (now known as the Tardis) was snuggly and perfect.

OH got a bit confused when trying to reverse for the first time, but luckily we were able to have an experiment on the campsite!

The tardis is now settled in its new home, happily waiting for our next adventure!
