hi all, first can I say what a great forum found it out by accident while searching on Google for sprite caravan clubs after spending over 2 hours off looking at most off the post’s I had to join in the fun. Last week we went looking for a newer caravan as our old van off 7 years was a 13ft lunar dino deluxe. Ok do not get me wrong what a great little van she was, but we need'd to go bigger as the family was out growing it. so it was all in the car and off to find our new caravan for some reason after looking for over two weeks we ended up at torksey caravan’s in Lincolnshire as we went into the gates it t was kids ran off in one direction me and the wife in the other, all I could hear in the distance was dad look at this one, mum come and have a look at this one, where do you start.???After walking around we was no wiser on what we want’d.after rounding up the kids we head’s over to the sales department. There we met dougles.after asking us what we in mind and the size off car we had and a few others’s walk’s us over to a caravan which we must had missed near the front gates. There she was... It love at first sight a beautiful 1992 18ft sprite super major eb in show room condition after getting the keys to look around inside and out it was one off best van’s we has seen for weeks and we was not going to let it go. After what seemed like ages (24hrs) wait we had our new caravan (thanks dougles)all load up and set off to golden sands in mablethorpe for the first week in the season. We loved every moment off it in our new big van. But will never forget our beloved 13ft 4 birth lunar dino deluxe. So what are your fond memories off finding your first caravan and camping and caravanning??

Hi jcbdigger

I found this site a couple of years ago when I used a tent.

Always used the site reveiws to get a good site and have not been let down yet.

Since buying my first caravan, this site has been better than having a whole shop of caravan sales people to help me get going.

Everyone is supportive and fun.

My first camping trip was to Mablethorpe on the Mermaid site. Very basic.  We had a fantastic time and hardly ever came off the site as kids loved the little play area and all the friends.

When we first got there I was terrified by the thought of having to put a tent in front of a field full of people, but everything went just fine.  I am glad you asked this question as I was stressing about the first time out with my new caravan and now I have remember that awful feeling when out with the tent for the first time.  I now know that after that first time hopefully everything will be just fine.

our first van was an old monza which had been badly neglected, however we restored her to her former glory i had to reupholster the seats as they were torn and shabby
we bought an old van as a starter van in case we did not like caravanning, on our first outing people were so helpful, we had only been on site half an hour and people were there to help one lady even took the kids who were little then to her van whilst the awning was put up and the kettle on the boil we had a great time and have never looked back. happy caravanning regards Anne

Welcome to the funny farm; you'll find all sorts on here, and some are actually sane.....
Seriously though (?) any problems or queries you have - someone will have an answer - how to fix damp spots, old manuals, unusual tips; and it's quite possible you will already know the answer to someone else's question - that's the way it works!
Anyway, enjoy!
