Reversing under the ball and more so on site on to a pitch when it is easy to lose sight of who ever is directing you, we find walkie talkies ideal. The person who is doing the directing must keep talking, keep coming, hard left, easy right etc. Works a treat with us, so much so I dont even turn round when reversing the caravan. We bought some walkie talkies of Ebay (£18) but have seen them in Tescos for a £10.
we got a set of walky talkies, had them for some time now there good for all sorts as well as parking. at campsite when the wigfe gose to shop, knowing she is safe.

We use walkies talkies, we give the kids one and they can go an disappear, always contactable and its piece of mind, especially when my son got stuck up a tree or the time he walked up the river and got stuck under a bridge, never thought about using them for hitching up, what a novel idea tho, thanks mate

what about me, when i am on my own, ?? what do fellow members suggest?
I usually collect our van from storage site on my own & bought a cheep wireless camera off ebay, just stick it on my bumper with a bit of blue tac angle it towards the hitch, place the tiny monitor on the dash and it works a treat.
I posted a subject last year on reversing cameras.
i bought one from ebay camera+monitor with leads for £39 it as a microphone/speaker so the better half can curse at me when reversing.
l glued the camera at the back caravan then run the cable under the van and use a normal 12s connector to plug into the back of my Mitzi. The monitor is placed on the dash passenger side, members with shoguns will know the is a handle on the dash, so with 2 spring clips and a piece of plywood the monitor is held on by Bluetack so no damage to dash board works a treat.
l am a HGV driver and with my job spend more time reversing down small narrow roads and have been using a reversing camera for about 14 years now
My wife may buy a set of walkie talkies so she can tell when lunch is ready when l'm fishing. Should have kepted my CB radios.

After the normal divorce inducing reversing/arms flailing like a windmill in the mirrors/standing right behind van where i cant see her, we(i) invested in walkie talkies for reversing etc no more problems and i can use it to order a beer whilst wifelet emptying the cassette hee hee(as long as shes not too busy with the children) Ouch!!
