In a couple of week I will be traveling to the Lyn Peninsular from the Midlands towimg my van, my wife suffers with a bad back and will need to stop around LLangollen to stretch her legs and go to the loo. Is there anywhere around Llangollen on the A5 where we can take a break

Yes pull in at the Wild Pheasant Hotel, good pub type lunches, afternoon teas etc. and reasonable prices.  It is just on the outskirts of Llangollen towards Corwen.  Or not far after there there is an organic farm shop, with cafe toilets etc.

There are 3 or 4  stop areas on the A5, My wife is 8 months pregnant so believe me i've stopped at them all for toilet breaks last weekend. We go to Tudweiliog on the Llyn Peninsula most weekends,  you will find plenty of places to stop and have a break.

Cheers for that, I think my days at Tudweiliog are numbered until later on in the year. I'll get the baby up there as soon as possible though, youre' never to young.
