Have found this Clickhere and this Clickhere , it looks like a standard aerial ( funny shape though ) that would plug into the aerial socket on a tv , and it has a amplifier that is either powered by 12volts or mains voltage depending on which aerial model you have .

That is the right aerial we have that one on our van but no instruction,we have a switch thing in one of the wardrobes but not sure what it is suposed to do

The thing in the wardrobe is probably a signal booster.

Just have the tv on and switch the switch on , you should notice the picture on the telly gets a little better if it's the aerial amplifier .
