Hi All

Has anybody got carpet tiles on the floor of their van? I have recently laid laminate effect self adhesive tiles, the ones that come in 3 foot lengths and was considering (for colder months) fitting carpet tiles on top. I figured they would be easier to store (spread the load around the van in the under seat lockers) in the warmer months then a roll of carpet. Not sure how they would stand up? Thinking about curly corner's, which ones would be best, standard or the more durable bathroom type? Someone must have tried them opinions wanted. Thanks

Jaybee.

Hi Jaybee, like Michael says this has been mentioned before. I think the carpet tiles is a great idea, so much easier to keep clean and should the worst happen then a few spares under on e of the bunkers can replace any damaged ones. Been going to replace our carpet with tiles for a whie now, just haven't got round to it yet! [] Ok Ok this weekend..................maybe!

LOL Graham, we have got a water leak somewhere in our van which meant we had to rip the old carpet up to dry out the floor and the carpet is going in the bin wagon tomorrow so we are getting carpet tiles this w/end otherwise we'll be going to the 3 Magpies meet with bare wood on the floor !!

JayBee,

Carpet in my caravan was getting tatty around the edges so replaced it with carpet tiles, which works fine. Loose laid except for very small pieces and around the spare wheel hatch.  Pinned these down with a staple gun.  You can force the gun through the pile so the staples disappear when the pile stands up again. Biggest problem was digging out the hundreds of tiny staples that the original carpet had been secured down with!

Alternatively buy a carpet remnant, cut it to shape and get it bound and you have removeable carpets.

I have just finished putting cork tiles in our van, lighter than laminate or carpet, and quite warm on the feet!. Agree with the 'hundreds' of staples in the old (getting tatty) carpet!
