Thanks for the feedback - my problem is that as its a FC, the trailer box is 8' long so thats the extent of the awning rail(no uprights) so Im a bit limited in choices, but would still like the space.
Im also considering one of the more traditional porch awnings, or even a motorhome awning whereby the fit isnt as much of an issue.
I should really pop along to my local dealer within on tow and ask their advice.
Please keep the comments coming in the meantime though
We have seen quite a few of these. Fine if you just want to shelter the doorway and have a place for leaving wet jackets and shoes. I think there are 2 sizes, you could get a wee table and a couple of chairs in the bigger one.
This has also caught my eye - but Im a bit dubious of its ability to stand up to the rigours of my kids swinging on the poles etc. This one is about as big as I can go , given the FCs awning rail lengh and trailers dimensions
We were looking at one of these and decided it was a bit small. We only keep a table and chairs in our little utility tent, which is roughly the same size. We decided that, if this was up against the van, there wouldn't also be room to open the door to get in. They do a slightly larger one for only a few more pounds and the extra little bit of space would probably make all the difference.
Im really stretched for space....the trailer awning rail length is 227cm so i think im going to be dictated by that, unless a motorhome awning would give me a little more to play with..perhaps Ill ask them on that forum
Matty I have the Porchlite from e-awnings, it is only 205cm wide. it si a good size awning for storing shoes, bin and keep cool and a chair, at least thats what i got in with ample room.
The thing to watch out for is the height. it needs a height of 235 - 250 cms.
You dont need the side rails as this has detached sides.
As was mentioned before check out the prices on UKCS and e-awnings
Yes, check the height of the awning rail. I have a Panorama XL by Base Camp which gives us plenty of room for chairs & table etc but is designed to fit a rail height of 240 - 255 cms - alas our van is only 229 cms so we have a major problem with leakages as rain does not run off as it should but collects on the roof. Apart from that I think it is good for the money. Takes me about 20 mins on my own, quicker if 2 do it.
