We have just looked at a 1997 Sterling Eccles Sapphire.  Looked imaculate and we checked all the cupboards and bathroom (they said they only used the bathroom for the toilet never had a shower)  there was no condensation.  Only thing I noticed was the carpet bit dirty (nothing that a clean would sort out).  They are also throwing in the awning / spare wheel / extra gas bottle / water and waste disposal barrels / extended wing mirrors etc basically ready to go all we need is a tow bar and wheel lock.

The price is £5,000 all in do you think its a bargain??? We have asked them to get it serviced and they have agreed to do so and pay the costs.

wouldnt say it was a particular bargain , reasonable maybe especially as they say they will service it. we have a 94 europa bought last year & paid 2700 for it with new awning included but it needed a floor job and new carpet , so i guess im using that as a benchmark.

good luck if you decide to buy it.

Sounds about right to me. We've got a 2000 version of the the same van (see gallery). We paid 10.5K in Nov 2002.

All i'd say is the layout is fantastic, loads of room, and the build quality in the Eccles range is really good for a British van. At the end of the day i'd rather have had the holidays and weekends away than the 10K in the bank so it's been well worth it and it is still in great nick despite the best efforts of my kids. Don't think of the money - think of the great time you'll have!

Good luck

Sounds reasonable.  We have a 1998 Emerald and would expect maybe 6500 for it if we were selling.     Only problem we have had was a bit of floor delamination in front of the sink/cooker, which I just fixed, cost £60.    We use the shower frequently, but do have an Omnivent extractor fitted.

At that price we would not be including any extras as we would be using them in our next van.  As well as the Omnivent we also have a spare wheel and IDM 2 alarm, and we have fitted extra lights and sockets, so a little above the standard spec.

We have just had  £9000-£9500 quoted as the price we should expect to pay if we needed to replace our 2003 Sterling Europa 500 This might give you an idea of the current prices.
