Hi,  I have recently bought a new horse trailer (twin wheel) weighing 925kg.  I need to man handle it into its storage location and being only 5ft 3in lady its no easy task.  I was thinking about getting a hitch drive type mover can anyone recommend one or have a used one for sale.  I have seen the purpleline hitchdrives for sale on ebay, are they any good. 

Any info greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the replys so far.  My trailer is kept on a flat concrete base but when I unhitch it I have to swivel it around on the spot.  Are these hitchdrives any good for this or do they require a lot of muscle power as well.  I put my trailer in its storage location for the first time yesterday and my arms and shoulders feel like Ive done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson this morning.  Any other suggestions are welcomed!

I have a hitch type one for sale since our caravan got nicked, it pulled our 4 berth van on and off our drive which has an incline on it, I suspect it would be easy to move ure trailer on flat concrete with it.

Make me an offer and its yours, also remember you will need a battery to power it, I also have one of those spare if you need one!

i had one but did not get on very well with it on slope

i bought a second hand mark 1 mr shifta which does the job adequately.

they are sometimes up for sale in the free ads section on this site

I bought a Purpleline hitchdrive for my folding camper when I had it.  I kept the FC on my drive which is on a very gentle slope (1ft drop from front to back) and covered in well packed down road planings.  It was totally useless!  The FC weighed 750kgs empty and it would'nt budge it empty an inch.  The wheel did'nt even spin round not gripping!  We jumped up and down on the foot plate as per instructions, still no good.  Purpleline not interested nor was the supplier.

I sold it to someone who wanted to move a car trailer about on a flat, tarmac surface and apparently it worked ok - not sure if there was a car on it but presume so.

I would be hesitant about a hitchdrive unless you could perhaps try one out first.
