hi everyone, just been refused caravan ins cos the compound it is stored in ( steel fenced 24 hour security ) is not registered for caravans , any way round this ? any info much appreciated !

hi,i would try others before moving the caravan. providing it has a hitch lock and wheel clamp most do not mind where its kept within reason.

Make sure that you do not try to hide any details when you go for insurance as it will only end up in heartbreak when they refuse to pay out . Insurance companies generally know a bad risk when they see it and if you have been refused insurance on the grounds of where you store it just beware of the companies that will take your money first then ask questions later.

thanks for that , they actually issued the policy then rang me 2 days later to say site  not registered, why did they not check this out first instead of wasting my time and theirs ( I did give them full details ) ?

felix44 hi when we got insured by the CClub they said within reason we are bothered where its kept as long as it has the hitch lock and wheel lock,give them a ring nothing to lose.[:o)]

Thats good news felix44 however make sure that you read your policy when you get it just to be sure it doesn't contain things that your storage area doesn't have .Some insist on lighting at night etc and if the site doesn't have it they may not pay out in case of a theft.
