Hi Folks,

We are always hearing bad stories about eBay, from things like con-men, unhappy cutomers, dodgy stuff being bought and sold etc etc...so thought i'd start this thread to show that sometimes you can get a good result and a bargain!

Last week we took the plunge and against all advice bought a caravan off ebay without prior viewing, it was situated over 300 miles from where we live, hence viewing was not really possible, the sale only showed 3 photographs of the 'van, two of the outside and one of the interior, so we had no real idea of how the caravan looked in detail and had to rely on the descriptions given by the seller (who i might add was also new to ebay), we were assured by the seller that the 'van was dry as all caravan sellers do even when they know full well there is damp present, and came with a nice awning. - One of the obstacles we faced was collecting the caravan as our car is currently unfit for towing (is booked in for a brake overhaul and new clutch at the end of the week) so we had no way to collect the caravan, the seller agreed to deliver the 'van for £40 (which for a 600m round trip we thought was very reasonable). - Anyway, it arrived saturday morning as agreed, and it must be said is in better shape than he described or we expected, there is no damp as he said, everything works perfectly, no dings or dents, and the Isabella awning is literally brand new! - and including delivery everything still cost less than £500!

So....it seems that it's not always upset and heartache when buying off eBay, and sometimes it is possible to find honest sellers and grab yourself a bargain!

With eBay if the van turns out to be less than expected, i.e. a fault wasn’t disclosed or described; the buyer can always say “no” and walk away.  The worse that can happen is they’d get a negative feedback from an irate vendor.

In this case you knew what you were doing, took all the necessary precautions and got yourself a good deal.  The Isabella Awning looks as if it’s worth the cost of the van itself!

there are some honest sellers out there we looked at a 2 berth van even veiwed it but got out bid. seller could'nt have been nicer or more honest ,Well done grug nice looking van and awning

 no, sold the Lunar 2 weeks ago, and your favourite the abbey will be up for sale next week after we've given her a bit of a make-over...maybe someone will give her a new home and have as much fun in her as we did!
