We are finally going to get a new caravan after 20 years of Tenting , caravanetting and caravaning, we have had 3 caravans , all oldish, the last one a Bailey Scorpio 500/4 1990, ( it's sitting there on the drive all clean inside and out and up  for sale since yesterday, I can't believe we are letting it go , it looks beautful inside and we have had some good times and lots of memories and I know I will cry when it goes even though we are getting the new one, last year we were inundated with callers wanting to buy it but it wasn't for sale then) , we are going to get a Swift Celeste 2004 model,it is still new and unused but a dealership special edition, it is a demonstration model with the full 3 years warranty, so although 2004 model it is still new and a bit cheaper and after a lot of persuasion I got them to chuck in a new Dorema awning with alloy poles. We get it in under 2 weeks, I am chuffed and can't wait for the luxury. You probably think I am nuts, it is only a caravan. I bet some of you will understand though how I feel. A Weekend is booked to try it out before the 2 week summer hols. I am paranoid though about theft , didn't worry with the older vans, but they just look so vunerable all new and sparkling sitting there, gonna get every bit of security kit I can and insurance a must now, any recommendations.I certainly think you end up laying out even more with a new van on top of the expense of buying it .Anyone else got one of these, I think it is based on a Charisma but there are a few added extras.Any advice, I hope there are not too many bad points although better tell me now before we pick it up and hand over the hard earned dosh.

Hi Mellyw , yea was a bit of a job doing my first damp repair on our old Sprite , but once you get into the swing of things it really isn't too difficult , it's more time consuming than anything else .
Hope you have a great holiday , be sure to let us know how you get on .
