It's actually more just the design of the fronts to be honest. Our old Esprit Flair was just a middle of the range van but that did have front cupboards as well as many all along the sides whereas our new Elddis last year, (which is considerably higher spec as it has many, many extras), doesn't have the two at the front at all, which took a bit of getting used to last year.
So, think you'll find the spec doesn't have a lot to do with it. Just gives you two more places to fill up with toot, you're probably not even gonna need!
Just be careful not to overload any overhead lockers though as this can affect the stability of your outift when towing.
