Hi

Had a small incident with a Seitz window blind which came out of its runner piercing the inner flyscreen blind. Needless to say my little darlings have compunded the problem by putting their sticky little fingers through the hole (bless them). Has anyone any ideas how to repair this, or is the fly screen part available as a spare. If so where can I get one.

Thanks

Jon

I got a job lot of second hand blinds and had to repair some fly screens - I took out the actual roller and replaced the netting material from another blind that was not being used. I re-rolled it back on to the roller, and it is as good as new. You will have a difficult job (as I found out) to get the material from caravan dealers. All they want to do is sell you a new blind for telephone numbers (£££££££!!).

Some shops that sell net curtaining might be an answer, but you need some form of material that has been stiffened in some way.

Hi Same thing happened to us last year.  Only thing it was the dog who ruined all four.  Wife trawled the internet found a great guy in Durham way who supplied us with a roll of proper caravan fly netting for buttons including postage. She told him what sizes etc was needed and he said a roll would do.  Light grey or dark grey or white no problem.  Quickest transaction I ever carried out.  Cheque in post, roll of fly screen back two days later.. I sat one Sunday morning, used the old ones (or what was left of them) as templates and before lunchtime had all the blinds replaced. Had enough to refresh the screens for the roof lights.   Wouldn't tell you what the dealer quoted me, never mind the wait but the savings paid for a few weekends away.  Can't tell you who the guy was as the computer crashed before Xmas but I'm sure if she found it you can!!

Regards

Baileyboy

I have found a place called Knowle Nets that sells it by the metre, but it is pricey. They are in Bridport, so that is not your Durham one???

Hi Jennifernn

Found the place and address after looking through some old records. Its Exclusive Screens, Bishop Auckland, Co Durham.  Could not have been more helpful.
