we are looking at trading in our Swift lifestyle for a twin axle Ace Supreme Globestar.

Does anyone have one of these vans who could give me any feedback on it?

Hello moonbeam2,

My wife and I recently owned an ACE Award Brightstar 2-berth L style lounge area and thouroughly enjoyed it. In March this year we "traded up" and bought ourselves a brand new ACE Supreme Globestar and it is fantastic.

We have been away at least every second weekend around our local area but have just recently returned from a 10 day stay in the New Forest which we really enjoyed. I pull my caravan with a Toyota Landcruiser without any problems at all and find that the twin axle set up makes it a more stable unit, except when you have to push it around by hand.

We have had no problems with any of the on-board equipment, the fridge is a good size and the cooker, oven and microwave etc. are in good proportion for the living area. With loads of storage area underneath the rear fixed bed and ample overhead lockers I think you find it to be an extremely versatile unit.

Don't hestitate, buy one now and you wont be dissapointed.

thank you Jamsie486 for your reply.

we have actually taken the plunge and bought it!!  i am so excited!!

we pick it up on the 4th August ready for a two week holiday in Devon starting 11th August. i looks a fantastic van and ticked all the right boxes for us. we pull with a Hyundai Santa Fe and i believe the twin axle will be more stable to tow. it was a concern of ours as we have never towed a twin axle before.  we were also worried about being allowed on all the sites as i have heard twin axles sometimes get turned away.

i am so pleased that you have had no major problems with your van. i know we will have teething problems (as with any new van) but i am glad there is nothing that you have a particular gripe with.

my OH thinks i have gone potty as i am busy buying new things for it but it is so lovely it would be a shame to spoil it with mis-matched stuff. (its a girl thing!)

cant wait to get it now!!

No problem moonbeam2,

The only thing I would suggest is that if you have not already purchased one before is to get yourself a small Porch Awning, we fealt that putting up a huge awning every time we go away and usually for maybe only for 2 to 3 nights was a waste of time(and energy). We bought ourselves a Scenic Plus(in silver and blue to match the caravan of course) from Towsure and it goes up in about 10 minutes and is a reasonably good size, it can accomodate about 6 people (for a few beers and wine) with chairs comfortably. You will certainly find that your van will be very stable and I'm sure your Santa Fe will manage without any problems.

Just one short bit of information for you, the on-board table that is supplied with the van, when you have a look at it you will probably find that it looks like it is dull and faded, don't worry as it has a protective film over it which can be removed.

Good luck, enjoy your holiday and I look forward to reading about it later.

thanks for the info. i would have been complaining about the dull table if i didnt know that!

one of the reasons that we opted for the larger van is the fact that i hate putting the awning up on our present van. it was either a larger van or a divorce and i think the new van was a cheaper option.

the dealer did offer an awning with the van or money off the van so we took money off instead. most other things we are transfering from our other van like the cd/radio. quite liked the option of the prewired dvd but it seemed quite an expensive extra plus the dealer didnt seem to understand what it was properly.

we do have a porch awning, one of those tent like things, so we will use that for the time being and see how we go with that.
