Hope someone might be able to help me

Whilst away in our caravan a couple of weeks ago, decided to pull down the fly screens to stop bugs coming in, to find out that one would not "latch" in the down position.

After having a proper look, have noticed that one of the plastic pegs which should be in the end of the aluminium "handle" which latches into the key slots on the plastic runners is missing.

Has anyone else had this problem, as I am struggling to find a replacement, and might have to resort to making something suitable if all else fails.

Thanks in anticipation.

Dave.

I know this is a bit of a long shot, but what about finding a caravan scrap dealer? While the fly screens haven't been around for donkeys years, you do still get modern vans having to go for scrap due to accident damage etc. Might be worth a go?

I did a googly search thingy and loads of suppliers for fly screens came up but only took a quick peep at one which didn't mention doing replacements, only installation from scratch but that was only one.

Good luck

Hi,

I thought a similar question had been asked on this site. I recall the answer being that this occurs quite often and dealers tend to keep the pegs in stock for replacement. I could just be getting a little senile though.....

Kevin.

Hi, the same thing happened to one of our fly screens on our Fleetwood Colchester last Month. We got a replacement from our dealer (50p) They are left & right handed. To replace simply pull down one side of the flyscreen to remove from the slot, remove the old broken piece and replace with new.I don't know if the style of these is Universal for all vans but I'm sure you should get then from a dealer for your Van.
