Hi,

I bought a cheap caravan at the end of last summer, its clean and pretty up together but I just need a few pointers on what i should be checking for the first trip caravaning  I could do with knowing what you guys reccomend for tire pressures etc? its a 15ft about 700 kg abi marauder 5 berth

It doesn't have a hot water system, but how do I test the cold water system and do I have to sterilise any of the system?

Oh and where can I buy a canary to test for gas leaks

Have a read Here, it gives tips and advice on things to do and check before setting off on your journey. Sorry i can't help re the tyre pressures but i'm sure someone will be along soon with the figures.

It is a good idea to sterilise your water system yes, simply add some Milton to your water container and turn the taps on for a few minutes, turn the taps off and leave it to soak for around an hour, then rinse it through thoroughly with fresh water.

Can't help re the canary, but sending the wife in with a box of matches should also show any gas leaks.
