Struth why are UK storage charges so high, we have undercover and secure storage in France (1/2 hour from St Malo) and have paid Euro 225 for 2006 that equates to about £150 at todays rates.
Can't afford to store here on the island as it has to be out of sight and undercover storage when we enquired last year was £12 per week - add that to the cost of getting the van on the ferry at least twice a year and you need megabucks!

I have three sides, left, right and wrong - which one are you on?
I use Lok'n'Stor, similar to Red/Yellow storage companies, and pay less than £6 per week for inside storage. I do not know if they all have this facility, but if they do, haggle.... my one started at about £20 per week, I then quoted prices from the Caravan Club getting started guide and theydropped to match
This is for storage in the Crayford/Dartford area.
We pay £102 a year, in Norfolk. Had other quotes £138 to over £300 so it is worth looking around. All were for outside storage some more secure than others. Ours has 2 high fences, CCTV etc. Some have dogs and guards as well. Ours is also hard standing.
A lot of the C&CC club sites offer storage, can't remember any of the rates now but I do know they do it. Quitehandy because you can store it in an area of your choice then. Might pay to look on their website or give them a call to find out more. Some dealers do it too, one I've dealt with had a yard full of vans in store for customers, I guess it's a good source of income for the workshop. Folk aren't likely to have them serviced elsewhere if he stores them.
The site we go to in Cornwall offers under cover storage but at £15 a week is just stupid. They have a list waiting for spaces though so perhaps it's just me being tight.
I would have thought a few local farmers around you must do it HGV driver, they seem to store vans on farms just about everywhere these days.
