Hello have any of you out there fitted the new led lights in their van if so can you please tell me if the lighting improved.

Hi did you ever try them?  I have just seen the article in 'caravan' magazine and have noticed that the local Maplins stock them, although they are £7.99.  They are cheaper on the internet but if I buy local then I can take the halogen bulbs and compare fitting to make sure it is the same.  The 3 halogen bulbs in the lounge alone use 60w, which at 5A is a drain in combination with other equipment.  Three led bulbs only use 4w between them - a measly 1/3A current draw.  The other thing that attracts me is that they run cold - dont like the halogen roof light giving out heat next to the polystyrene of the roof.

I've just got a couple to go in the Dany light that I fitted last year. I haven't had a chance to run them yet though so I can't report on how good they are.

I saw the article in PC & noted that Bailey do a replacement LED light kit, pity they did'nt offer it as an option when i bought my Bailey Senator last November.

Still I'm going to check it out at the NEC later this month.

I did get some of these bulbs but was very disappointed in the result the light they gave out was not very brightand  they have ended up in the bottom of a drawer in the caravan.

I bought 4 off the LED light clusters and fitted them around the caravan 3 around the U shape seating and 1 near to the doorway . The main reason i bought them was to save battery power as we tend to go on rallies without hook up & the standard 15w halogen lights soon drain the battery down . We opted for the warm light as they also do bright white light ones . The bright light ones are a bit too harsh & not a natural light so i opted for the warm ones . The warm ones are acceptable as background lighting but not much use when reading . They are expensive and dont like voltage variation much - tend to flicker when water pump runs or stereo is on midlevel volume? They are supposed to last a lot longer than halogen bulbs and 3 LED lights equate to 1 halogen so they will extend battery life but there definately not as bright as standard Halogen. Eventually i bought a back up leisure battery so the power saving isn't an issue & i tend to use the original lights more than the LED's - does that answer your question??! 

Seeing as nobody gives any positive feedback, I'll give it a miss.

It says constant voltage led transformer required.  As seen on other posts they can be voltage change sensitive.  Some are made for retrofit and have a regulator chip.  Also there are different fittings I think the ones I need are mr-16.
