ok i always use bobby dazzler, to rinse off after washing but it does not get rid of black marks. it is just a protection and puts a film on it for the winter.

ours black marks were so bad last time we cleaned it. SO this time. we washed it with car shampoo then polished it with MER brilliant... we put it on when the van was still wet, a side at a time.

this was a hot day in full sun left it for about 10 mins then polished it off. it did work but the cloth  shaking to get rid of the dust from the polish but it was great  and we are very pleased with the results. there is an article on types of polish in this months practical caravan and although they liked mer. i think they should have given it top marks for ease of use and price, brilliant we will use it again.

YOU DEFFINATLY NEED HELP--- ring the help line-- you need a good talking to.---OMF     do i ? can you explain?, i do like and use fenwicks but it did not remove our black streaks. and mer did. i will still use both. please explain or i wont be able to sleep.

The best way i found to remove black streaks was to use Fenwicks caravan cleaner neat on the offending streaks and leave for a minute before washing off. Did our van last week whilst up at inveness and it took all the black streaks off. i wouldnt use anything else on my van other than fenwicks.

When you try and remove black streaks with polish all you are doing is diluting the polish and spreading it round very very thinly thereby giving the polish a bit more body. i.e. greyer. If you think I’m jesting just rub a little cleaner into a well polished area where every one can see it and stand back, the cleaned area will stand out like a sore thumb (serves you right for being a sceptic) you will have to do the whole van now, that’s of course if you REALLY do want a Bobby Dazzler. Apologising to all your friends for the miss information you’ve fed them will take you just as long as me doing the job (you wish). The trouble starts at the PDI stage, you might not have used a polish but the dealer proberly has, so it might be the case that the unit has never been cleaned properly, in other words bottomed.   Polish and be damned ----Cheers OMF          The views here are purely personal to me and do not necessarily reflect the views of any magazine or professional organisation ---- OMF

Is it like cars, polish then wax. Waxing and polishing not being the same thing by any means.

Polish to remove the marks and then wax to protect the finish.

Once thoroughly waxed any future marks should come off very easily as it has not made contact with the actual paint, and apply wax to the area after removing any marks to restore the protection.
