I know this has been talked about before, but we've got little black bits in the flush water. I know its caused by a fungus but a little while back someone mentioned a way of preventing this. At the moment we're using Aqua Kem pink and green, but I think someone said that using Fenwicks(?) top and tail prevents this. Can someone please confirm this.
. This unique toilet fluid can be used in the top tank, and also in the bottom tank. Thereforethe bottom tank is not being weakened as the flush water is added. Which makes it easier to use and also more as the toilet is used the economical Top & Tail has been designed to improve the function on non-mains toilets, by lubricating the rubber seals and shutter and coating the bowl with slip agents to keep it clean and fresh. Top & Tail also conforms to our strict environmental policy, so it does not contain the highly toxic and carcinogenic formaldehyde. This also means that it can be disposed of down the normal sewerage system, instead of a dedicated deposit. The toilet fluid has a seven day cycle which breaks waste down efficiently, killing germs and bacteria. It has a fresh smell and a dye that will not stain

is this for the water pump as i don,t use anything in mine do i need to
no, this is for the header tank for your toilet if you have one (some caravans flush straight from the aquaroll), the top and tail can go both in your flush and in the cassette.
i dont use anything in the top tank of mine, just blue in the bottom, never had any problems,
however to the OP, you can get a cleaner from thetford (convinient) but most people seem to just flush it ot with fresh water.
This form generally because you have not fully emptied it when left for a while. Just half fill the tank with the pink stuff and keep flushing untill the water is clear and you should be ok.
Never had black bits when we were using blue and pink - but after reading this and needing to get new blue decided to give Top and Tail a try. We've now got black bits in the flushing water!
We'll be going back to pink rinse once we've used up the bottle.

The reason for this is T&T is removing the deposits from the sides of the tank, not causing them -----OMF.
