17  Hi everyone. hope you can help on this one.

excuse me in advance if my descriptive powers let me down but i,m brand new to caravaning (at the ripe old age of 47!).

My missus and me are currently trying to sort out our 1st van, an abbey piper 1400l of 1984 / 85 vintage.

the only major problem we,ve come across so far has been a broken bracket on the front fixed window and a water leak just discovered on the wallboard just below it.

I managed to source replacment brackets from caravanparts.co.uk,but removing the old ones has been problematical.i can remove the brackets where they screw to the window frame, but removing the screws from the black plastic wedges attached to the exterior of the window is proving difficult.

Have already sheared off the screws from the wedge attached to the broken window bracket (having tried easing oil,wd40 etc) so am reluctant to go any further without advice/information.

Where can i source replacment wedges if required?,or am i going wrong somewhere in my attempts to remove them?.As for the water leak..seems too obvious to relate it to the broken bracket.i will be resealing the window, but any advice from someone who,s experienced similar will be warmly welcomed.

hope you can help
