Hi Ian
We have a Tristar with the same stoopid roof - seemed like a good idea until we put up an awning!
Anyway, still be relatively new to caravanning, when we put up our shiny new Dorema Cardinal awning - size 10, with 3 poles - we looked around to see how others had set up theirs'. Everyone seemed to have the poles sloping down from the caravan to the front of the awning but we were going to have to duck to get in and out if we did the same!
We didn't fancy doing that so ours sloped up the way instead - rising from the caravan. We had some very heavy and prolonged rain and, whilst there was a little pooling, it didn't stay long and soon ran off of its own accord. Well, except for the overhang above the door we chose to use - that collected a little but only cleared if the wind blew or we tried to go in or out of the door - you only make that mistake once!!
Good luck with yours!
