Do I neeed a special type of 50mm ball to suit an Alko Coupling/ stabiliser?

 If so what is the difference?. I have a bolt on flange type Bosal towbar fitted.

You need an alko ball, its basically got a longer neck than a standard ball, so the pads can grip round it better, theyre around £20, or usually free if your buying a new van, just make sure you remove the black powder coat with a fine emery paper before use, and dont grease it.

If you have a detachable swan neck type of ball, then these are long enough to cope, as long as they are clean
