Hi, I got a Protec cover and it has its upside and downside. Its not a five minute job getting it on and needs two people. I can, however get it off single handed. Having got it off we do need to then go home before setting off to leave it there (we are in a storage site) and go home before putting back into storage to get it. In our case that is not the end of the world as the distance is not great. I don't think you would want to take it with you. On the upside it keeps the van lovely and clean in storage where it is under trees and cleaning a badly dirty van takes a fair while. One of the main things that has not been mentioned is the sunlight issue. I notice that on our storage site most van owners pull their window blinds down mainly to stop sunlight bleaching out the upholstery in the van. I understand that the springs in the window blinds do not like being tensioned for long periods of time and are likely to give out.

we are about to collect our second van and decided to splash out and get a brand new compass magnum 18 ft . As our nieghbours do have a tree my husband has sugested a cover to keep it looking nice, its in our back garden and next to garage so we can easily store cover when we are using the van but as a child caravaner !! my dad always told me never cover the van as it is not good for them - is this old hat know ?? i would like to use one but and concerned....

Sommersetsun, what your father told you, was the covers about then. In this day and age the materials used now are much better than the ones they used 20yrs ago ie. they are breathable and normally tailored to fit each individual caravan. I haven't got one yet, but will put it on Santa list next month,
