We have just a simple household tool set, bought from Ikea for about £3, containing screwdriver with assorted bits, a pair of pliers, adjustable spanner and small hammer. Also i keep the tool for the Tyron safety bands with it, and a set of tyre levers for fixing cycle punctures. In the car is a pocket multitool (Leatherman-type). That's all we've needed so far.....

      I carry the following

  • Trolley jack
  • Pair of wire cutter & Pliers
  • Set of combination spanners but I don't know what for
  • Set of screwdrivers, Allen keys & Torques.
  • Adjustable spanner
  • wheelbrace & short length of steel tube in case nuts are tight
  • Foot pump
  • Several peices of timber of differing thickness so I can either level the van using the trolley jack or drive a flat tyre up on a piece of it to get trolley jack under axle.
  • Couple of spare bulbs & fuses & a roll of insulation tape
  • Wind up torch because if it happens to me it'll be dark & my battery one will be flat.
