hi could anyone give me some feedback on ( caravanguard insurance ) are they any good. unfortunatley ? im with the dreaded E at L so i appreciate all your comments before i switch, thanks in advance everyone. p.s at the moment i pay £90. year with them and ive just been quoted £145. with caravanguard.

We have been with Caravanwise now for quite a few years, fortunatly we have only had to make one claim but there was no problems with it at all. The quote we have is cheaper than both caravan clubs and when I phoned around at renewal time, as we all should to compare quotes, no one could match it even with the claim we made.

Beware Caravanwise only insure single axle caravans

Useless or what ?? Don't they want the business then....

( caravanguard insurance cannot comment on these as i have not used them.i would try NFU for a reasonable quote.and a good company as well ( E at L [}:)]

I got a few quotes and found Shield was the cheapest by quite a long way - I think we paid about £104 as opposed to the quote from C&CC which was about £170.

Myself and a friend have alkso just used Shield and found them by far the cheapest for like for like policy.

we have just dropped out caravan club and gone with tourer select cc wanted £387 got tourer select for only £!88 exactly same amount covered £10,000 for van and £450 contents not a bad saving

People we know had the windows stolen from their van. They were insured with E&L who refused to pay out, saying there hadn't been a "forced entry". They had to go thro' the Ombudsman to force them to pay out, which they did - but not the whole lot.

E&L are s**t been featured on watchdog many times and am amazed they are still in business!

Anyway, I insure everything with either NFU or CIS.

Both are fantastic payers in the event of claims.

Move your cover imediately, you never know when you may need to claim and dont bother waiting till its due for renewal, you may need it and with E&L you would be lucky to get paid. there insurance is not worth the paper its written on.

I've just renewed via CC. £240 for a £13500 van with no content cover,, £200 XS, and full NCD

Saga were £295, and Adrian Flux were ££379.

The main thing for me was CC required fewer locks, alarms or sentries at the door!

Can't be doin with the hassle. That's why I insure the van.

Hi Rovernut!

When I insured mine, Caravan Club were dearer than Saga - just shows that there are a lot of factors that affect the premium, and no one company is going to be cheapest (or best) for all.
