It depends what caravan you want to tow. Some very small ones can be towed by a 1.3 but for most modern caravans you really need a 1.8 or even 2L.

What sort of caravan are you thinking of?

BTW I used to have a 1990 Autosleeper Frisky on a Ford Transit base - is that what you have at present?

i wouldnt tow a caravan on a 1.3 engine vehicle as I doubt the engine would have the power to pull the extra weight on hills, you may think about a trailer tent as another option.
