I've towed for 23 years and never had a flat tyre yet so not sure I would call £150 for a set of Tyron safety bands 'well worth it'. What is worth it is checking that your spare wheel will fit
That's your opinion Westmorland & I respect that. It's a crazy thing with tyres isn't it, I've run & driven lorries for 27 years & in that time covering 10,000 klms most months I've only had a handfull of mobile punctures. However,we did have a blowout with our NEW caravan on its first journey & the TYRON bands kept it stable. They were fitted as a policy of the supplying dealer (everything he sold had them fitted upon sale) the price was probably built into the van price but I for one was very pleased with his policy.
We went for another season & then had another puncture coming home on the M5, again the van remained in line & under control. Needless to say I've had the bands fitted to my new van before I collected it from the dealers.
It's down to personal choice whether the price is worth it & I hope you never have the need for them.
