Any one know of any dealers of older vans in the yorkshire area, we have been looking around, but most dealers only seem to sell used models at 5K and up, surly they must part ex cheaper vans than this,
we will be looking to spend up to 3K, maybe 4 at a push, but want to see what we can get for this money without wasting private buyers time, so far we have only found one (although the vans were promising)
Dewsbury Caravans...If you see one in there and its filthy, don't worry as they are fully cleaned and serviced before you pick it up. Also if you see something broke, say a blind or door handle, if you mention it to the dealer, James, he will have it fixed ready for pick up date....We bought a van from him a few year ago and was very happy with it.
newport caravans just off the M62 on the way to Hull , Northern caravans at Thorp Arch trading estate , Dewsbury caravans, Pleasuretime at Cas get a few cheaper vans in from time to time.
Dont use South Yorkshire aka Bawtry caravans. Their follow up service is garbage. Brother bought a brand new van 2 1/2 years ago and is still trying to get problems sorted out from new.
Goodhalls at Holmfirth Road,Shepley,Huddersfield 01484 608888 seem to have quite a few older vans in.We bought one from there last week and they were very helpful.

thorp arch trading estate not far from John Moores factory.whereabouts in selby area are you mate ?
I know its not Yorkshire but we bought ours from Preston Caravans which is a division of Campbells and is just around the corner from their Lostock Hall branch in Preston. It is specifically aimed at first time caravan purchasers and sells budget price caravans.
We had the same problem as you - a limited budget - and after treking around loads of dealers only to find everything out of our budget we found ours at Prestons. We are more than happy with it and the service we received was very good. They guarantee all the 'white goods' (fridge, cooker, heater, water pump etc.) and we even got a starter pack with it. After sales service is good too, we had a problem with the water pump on our first outing and they sorted with no quibbles. Well worth a look
