Was thinking of buying an Oklahoma but would like opinions on what the owners think about them.Is the fixed bed comfortable to sleep on? How does having a big water tank help? Anything that can help me make up my mind.

We have just ordered the Indiana, and we looked at the Oklahoma, it was a close one they are very similar but we liked the spacious feel of the Indiana, but I also like the larger seating in the Oklahoma sorry not much help I know but I think you just get a feeling, and we all 4 did.

We have the Oklahoma, traded in a Lexon EB for it.Our opinion for what its worth is, there is more cupboard space in the Oklahoma than the Indianna, The fixed bed is great, I have a bad back and would never go back to the other sort of beds. The on board water tank we only use when we are on site for a wek or more as the palaver to change levers etc to fill it is a pain, but I believe that someone has altered it to make it easier. The Indianna has the feeling of space due to the low level  table top in front of the side window but in our opinion at a loss of storage space. We also preferred the full length seating at the front to get sprawled out on in the evening.

Before there is a stream of arguments against the Oklahoma, this is our opinion only. We suggest you try out both at your dealers if you can and pick what is best for you.

I have the Indianna, there is too much storage space, if you fill it you WILL be exceeding the allowable limit. The problem with the Oklahoma is the water heater under the fixed bed, takes up valuable chair storage space and difficult to reach the drain tap. (Important to all us year round caravanners) Also I am not a fan of putting the tv so high up and having the toilet removal door and the toilet window in the awning.

Bed is good.

The onboard tank is great, saves having to insulate the aquaroll in the winter. Levers ok once you are used to them.

Awning light is too high it is covered by the caravanstore, and the gas locker light is a waste of time it is at the bottom.

And in my opinion the BBQ point is on the wrong side.

Regards

Steve

Presumably the fixed bed is the same as the one in the Bordeaux. We loved it and miss it very much.  On board water tank?  Luvvly jubbly in winter.  Don't like water sitting in containers in summer months cos of bacterial and fungal growth, toxins etc.But as a med or even mad scientist, it's the type of issue that bothers me more than others.

Thank you for your replies.

I do like the idea of long seats at the front I never thought about the toilet window in the awning not sure if it would be a big issue but would have to think about it.My caravan store covers my awning light on the Provence thought they would have fixed it on the Oklahoma. Can you tell me where the Barbie point is on the Oklahoma? Can the water tank be fully drained? have you heard about a fitted shield or special fitting that protects the cupboards from the heat of the oven that your dealer will install for free on the Bailey`s?

Hope you can help with my questions and again any advice would be greatly appreciated .

Thanks again to everyone

BBQ point is on the near side ie in the awning, not a problem for us as we prefer a real BBQ t o a gas cooker anyway. Both water tanks, hot & cold, can be fully drained from outside. The drain taps for both are easily accessable in our opinion. Not sure what you mean about shield for the oven!! We use our oven and never had a problem. All the above relates to the Oklahoma. The toilet on the nearside also is not an issue, it may be to others but not to us.

Thanks Jerry + Tina.

The shield thing was an article (which I cannot find again) about the cupboards next to the oven in some Bailys getting a bit hotter than they should, the gentleman in the article contacted Baily who fitted the shield or protective cover free of charge.

I will try and find the article and post it here.

Thanks for your views It all sounds great to me. I really like the fixed bed and being able to sprockle out in the front if I want.

Thanks again

Bigmo

Tks Mo,

I did read an article myself somewhere about Bailey fitting extra vents, but that was to the outside I believe to allow heat out and cool air in. Whatever van you choose I am sure it will fit your needs, just take your time when choosing, even if it means 2 or 3 visits back to the dealers. It's amazing what questions pop up when your on your way back home from ther dealers or the wife says what was in that cupboard and you havent a clue so you end up going back again. We tended to write things down even though our dealer is less than 5 minutes walk away. we did 3 visits before deciding which van was for us, even though we had already narrowed it down to one manufacturer.

Yes we did, we traded in a Lunar Lexon EB Fixed Bed for the Bailey. SHMBO said the Bailey made far better use of the cupboard space, the BBQ point wasnt a selling point for us, the onboard water tank is nice but wasnt considered essential either. We just liked the van and after looking at the other Baileys decided that model was for us. We also looked at other manufacturers at the NEC show but decided Bailey  value seemed best to us. Again I have to say its all down to personal choice as others will no doubt submit posts defending their own pride and joy. Whatever you choose, enjoy.
