Is your car a diesel?. If so you need to finely filter the oil to get rid of all food deposits, probably will have to bye a heater to fit in your fuel tank, maybe change the head of your engine, tell the tax man.....thet list goes on & on & on. Not really worth it. Then again you could go to Tescos or Makro or somewhere were they sell cheap veg oil and just use that, but contact your dealer first to see what changes to engine you would have to make.

Round here the Bio diesel costs more than the normal and I don't think it's a very high percentage of vegetable oil anyway.

When "heavy oil" engines were first invented it was done so that the third world countries could have reliable transport that they could produce their own fuel for rather than being reliant on importing from oil rich countries. (Or so I read somewhere) Ah, found it "When Rudolph Diesel, who invented the engine that bears his name, showed it at the 1900 World's Fair, he declared that his engine could be fueled by peanut oil and thus farmers could grow their own energy source."

I really don't understand why our Government doesn't encourage the use of vegetable oil for transport. Then our farmers could benefit instead of the rich OPEC countries.
