We had a fantastic time this summer (we got our caravan mid july) and were away for 2 weeks. We have a solar shower (much to the amusement of my family) which works really well when the sun is shining.
We don't have hot water in our van and was wondering how feasable it would be to install an electric shower for when the weather is not so good. I know we could use site showers but I'd like to know if it's possible and what makes etc to look out for.
i think the water preasure will be a big problem tbh
there are some that use a bucket of hot water(one kettle should fill a bucket when mixed with cold water) and a battery powered shower im sure someone will post a link i dont have one sorry

Unless you are planning to spend long periods on sites with no showers, I wouldn't think it was worth it. We didn't have a shower in our first three outfits, but were happy to use site facilities. Then we had a van with a shower, used it once, and decided not to bother again. We have never used the shower in our current van. Firstly, we always use sites with showers and secondly (don't tell anyone), if we are only away for a night or two, we reckon we can cope with a shower before we leave home and a nice bath when we get back. We haven't noticed anyone giving us a wide berth yet! I would think your solar shower for warm weather conditions was just about right. We have thought about buying one ourselves.
An electric shower in a caravan is probably not going to work, as they will need way more power than your EHU can supply, most needing 20-30Amp, even good EHUs are only 16Amp
I dont have a shower in my van, and TBH, i only stay on sites without facilities for a weekend so can do without.
Thanks for all your comments. I'm not that fussy, just thought it might be a cheaper option than installing a water heater. Quite happy mostly to have one before I go and one when I get back for weekends. Just wanted the option really.
