Interesting point Grub, but I wonder how that applies to long obsolete appliances?, especially where the manufacturer no longer exists?
The one up there now does not mention copyright and looking through other Carver manuals neither do they.
The other thing is in law you have a 'right of supply' and if not available from it's original source, someone else is entitled to fulfil any demand. Beyond that with gas appliances, the manufacturer is obliged to supply maintenance literature on demand because of safety issues so I'd say I'm doing them a favour!!
There was a guy selling Cascade2 repair information on ebay a little while ago, a customer had bought it and sent me a copy. A lot of the info was from me! the seller having been to my workshop picking my brains, the information as written was pretty usless if not inaccurate so I told him he could pack it up in no uncertain term. But what really made me laugh and was actually the final reminder to start this. Theres yet another guy on ebay at the moment selling copies of Carver manuals, he says if you buy one, then copy it and try selling it on ebay he will prosecute!!!!
